Matthew was born in Vancouver, Canada in 1981. However, he spent the majority of his childhood living in England where he absorbed the country's rich culture and history. To date, this has been an important influence on his work.
In 2004, he earned a BA (1st class) in Philosophy from the University of British Columbia.
In 2007, he earned an MA (Honors - Phi Kappa Phi) in Screenwriting from California State University, Northridge.
Matthew lives in Santa Barbara, California, and is now embarking on a career as a novelist and screenwriter/director.
